Gustav Graves, the main Villain in Die Another Day, is played by actor Toby Stephens. Early in the film when he is Tan-Sun Moon, played by actor Will-Yun Lee, he is a colonel in the North Korean Army. Tan-Sun is believed to be killed by James Bond when his hover craft goes off of a cliff. Tan-Sun survives and flees to Cuba where he undergoes gene therapy to alter his appearance to become Gustav.

Gustav models his new looks and actions after Bond himself, as seen in his witty quips and confidence.

Gustav’s villainous deeds include selling conflict diamonds and creating a reflective satellite called Icarus that can harness the sun as a weapon.
